I tested this with the weather.
You are right, @johnraff, with y = 10, the Conky arranges itself better.

I think the most common resolution is probably still 1920x1080
The font color here is set to becfcf.
My feeling for the readability of the font is always direction bright. Your experiment with the shadows is not readable to my eyes.

I have to agree. Let's stay with draw_shades = false.
As for the font colour, I do find becfcf a bit too bright to be honest. It's good for readability, true.
How about 76B8B5 for example?
Any other opinions?

Is there a torrent of ftp server? Download is extremely slow.
Nevermint. Suddenly it changed from 11 hours to 5 minutes and going fast. Very slow start.

There are no torrents for alpha and beta isos hosted on Sourceforge, but there are for our official BunsenLabs releases (currently Beryllium).

But anyway thanks for the other suggestions which I think we should put in default Boron... unless @hhh objects.
No objections!

When running the welcome script the second time, after the message that that welcome script could have been updated and should be downloaded an restarted, I got the error;
'ERROR MESSAGE:
E: Unable to locate package bunsen-images-archives'
Fresh install of the alpha in virtualbox
Note; wanted to post screenshot but I get 'You are not allowed to post links'

^bunsen-images-archives is not yet available for Boron, so the error message is correct.
Did the rest of the welcome script work OK for you?

New members cannot post links, but I see your status is now "member" so I think it should now be possible.

@johnraff yes, it worked fine. I also tested all live session versions and both the grafical install and text installer. Those worked also fine.

For what it's worth, I'd like to see bunsen-image-archive taken out of the bl-welcome script (as well as Dropbox). The archive is part of our history, but, it contains a lot of boring wallpapers. Sorry if this offends anyone, but some of those walls are mine and I'd gladly keep them out of an install.

^Dropbox is already gone from bl-welcome (it's available from a sub-sub-menu).
Image Archives? Sure, just have it available in the repo without actually pushing it in bl-welcome. Though I don't know about "a lot" of wallpapers - I just had a look and all it held was the default backgrounds for Hydrogen, Helium and Lithium (eventually). They all look pretty good to me.

I haven't looked at it in a while. I remember a lot of black and white images in multiple sizes, so a lot of repetition.
Doesn't it also hold some important historical stuff like the flame logo?
Anyway, yeah, let's drop the archive from bl-welcome.

Those old image files etc used to be in bunsen-images-extra but that was dropped, so all that stuff is long gone. It's in git, but not in any packages atm.
Here's the current bunsen-images-archives for Beryllium: https://github.com/BunsenLabs/bunsen-im … m/archives
Boron's version of the package will add the Lithium backgrounds.
bunsen-images atm ships the current release's backgrounds + the previous one's + some random other wallpapers that are used in BLOB themes.
There are a couple of flame logos in bunsen-common because various scripts etc might want to use them.

76b8b5 might be good for default conky on the Aqua wallpaper.
Maybe... just a little bit blue?
Slightly more desaturated would be #8AB8B6
Or is this ultimate bikeshedding?

Theoretically, you could also get the colors from the 'bunsenlabs'...
left 4d8085 from bunsen
right 6a8b8f from labs
Yes, that's where I got the starting colour that led eventually to 76b8b5 then a bit less blue to 8ab8b6.
you could also use the color of the tint2 bar as a guide
Oh yes, those (#9BBAC0 and #9BB5BE) are very close to #8AB8B6 - almost indistinguishable to my eyes.
I think any of those three would be fine as default conky colour on the aqua-light wallpaper.
For the dark desktop I thought slightly less blue/green looked better, eg #ABB8B8
That's quite readable I guess?
BTW the menu icons do look quite pretty on the dark background, although I'd been thinking we could make the dark desktop no-icons by default...???

I see it that way, too. Let's see if anyone else comments and then you should set it with @hhh.

I agree.
The icons look like 'Black-Frost-Suru'..., although no, I don't like icons in menus.
(I was missing the appropriate resolution of the dark background)
