You mean the forum post BBC toolbar? That no longer exists on this forum? If so, it was removed because it was a dirty hack on the code, I've been given to understand.
Installing a clean plugin is on my to-do list, but rather far down atm...

Where did you get your code from?

Implemented part of your text suggestions (same url).
Searched in vain for a way to center a <span> in Pango markup, or for yad to display two bits of text, one centered, one not. How did you do that?

I've already explained why the BBC markup toolbar isn't available in this forum right now. Maybe some day.

Although BL itself is meant to be easily extendable to using other window managers, doing the same for BLOB would be a non-trivial task, possibly for Carbon...
The choice of "GUI" in the title, rather than "Openbox", reflected that long-term hope.
What I was forgetting here was Wayland on the horizon. That's going to upset a lot of applecarts. For a start, the WM almost certainly won't be Openbox.
It might be a chance to regroup and do a back-to-basics on the whole BunsenLabs project. It would be nice if BLOB still had a place there.
But not for a couple more Debian releases I suppose.

Down and dirty. Sprinkle tabs all around.
edit: I also could not find good info on formatting.

And I'm still grumbling. Some of us have difficulty typing. Ran my hand through a table saw; cut off half a finger and mangled severed others. The toolbar helps save a lot of typing. Plus halving to remember the exact syntax is for computers, not people.

edit: maybe you'll consider it an aid for the physically challenged and move it up the to do list some.

I don't for a moment think you'd make something like that up. But there's no trace in the git history of those buttons ever having those wrong return values.

Git doesn't let you fudge stuff like that - to change something you have to commit it. If there's something weird about the GitHub interface I'd like to know. Also, see below.

OK if there's no clean way of doing it I'll just leave it left-aligned.

Those band saws have always scared the shit out of me, for exactly that reason. Chain saws too.
Anyway, yes I've revised my previous view of that toolbar as a bit of cute eye-candy. I'm not a great typist either - grew up in the era when typing was not a skill university students were expected to have - but now I appreciate why some people have real need for mouse accessibility.
There is a fork of FluxBB https://github.com/MioVisman/FluxBB_by_Visman which has a BBCode toolbar, but unfortunately it's not a plugin, as I was hoping, but built into the code. Backporting that to the current BL FluxBB install will not be simple, if it's even possible.
You'll need a translator plugin to read the Russian and French forums which seem to be all that's left of the original FluxBB online docs:
https://fluxbb.qb7.ru/forum/
https://fluxbb.qb7.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?id=4097
https://web.archive.org/web/20211021045 … =10880&p=1
https://web.archive.org/web/20161216070 … ses/2.1.1/
I managed to download something called fluxtoolbar 2.1.1 dated 2013. I've no idea if it will work. To test it, I'll have to try installing it on the test forum I do happen to have set up on a free (this year only) Amazon server. If it works, then attempting an install on the BL forum might be possible, but it's a risk. This stuff is really above my pay grade.
Another route might be a javascript-based browser addon that enabled a BBCode toolbar for any forum, if such a thing existed.
Al, even if I move it way up on the todo list, Debian Bookworm is fast approaching, and in view of the stick we got over the late release of Beryllium , pushing out Boron will have to take priority. Sorry.

Those two recent screenshots looked good, and I'll apply the changes right away. Thanks!

Interesting to note, though, that your line numbers are different from the source at the top, in the Intro() function.
Here's line 608:

But in your screenshot that's line 610. I wonder what's happening?
Even stranger, line 2213 in the other screenshot matches up OK:

Now who would do a thing like that?
(raises hand)
I hope in any way it pushed the project forward. The release happened soon after. Coincidence? I'll leave that to the reader.
On the flip side, I do try to pull my weight.
Speaking of; @hhh? I'm worried you're gonna come up with such a good idea it puts our work to waste.

I know little more than the basic concept of github. Beginner mistakes abound. The dude abides.
The issue from post #33, text change, was also covered originally in post #10; and apparently it was missed. I wasn't verbose enough about the change; fixed this in the last two posts explicitly stating the change. But that's not why I brought this up...
Is there a better way to collaborate? What am I missing?

Then I found the RAW button and copy/paste from that page.

^That link is to a specific commit, so it won't change.
What you want is either the regular page with all the tools:
https://github.com/BunsenLabs/bunsen-ut … l-obthemes
or the raw code:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Bunse … l-obthemes
Both of those links hold the latest code that I've committed on my local git repo and pushed up to GitHub. They'll continue to work.

The text change you suggested in post 10, I might have decided to ignore (or overlooked). It didn't seem to change that much.

This is certainly one way.
GitHub issues or even Pull Requests are a more formal, organized way of doing it. Might seem overkill for a single line of code though. Here's a list of closed issues with bunsen-utilities:
https://github.com/BunsenLabs/bunsen-ut … s%3Aclosed
And here's a particularly long tricky one:
https://github.com/BunsenLabs/bunsen-ut … /issues/63
An intermediate approach, if you didn't want to derail a more general discussion with something long and complex, would be a dedicated thread in the Bug Reports section about a specific issue.

That was the issue indeed. That long string indicates the state of the repo at a particular commit. Probably you wanted the current state of the file which is always here:

I spent some time this morning looking for ways of adding a BBCode toolbar - even asked perplexity.ai - but nothing looks attractive. That fluxtoolbar required some editing of existing files in FluxBB with no guarantee it wouldn't break something. FluxBB itself has stopped. The easiest option might be to migrate to MioVisman's fork which is at least getting regular updates (some security related), but it's a one-man project and I've no idea if it would really be safer or not. Migrating to a completely different forum platform is under long-term consideration but that would be a huge undertaking...
