Re: 80's Music

The Suzanne Vega posted earlier is the DNA remix from '90, not the original. This remixed version had a video, too...

Re: 80's Music

here.. some more german punk/avantgarde stuff..

have some more 80s Abwärts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8N0LRhgfiyI
and ofcourse: Einstürzende Neubauten

and here's another fun one one about early 80s cold war-era and computers
Der Plan - Gummitwist

and some more..

Malaria - Kaltes Klares Wasser
Die Tödliche Doris - Tanzen im Viereck
Malaria - Geld
Palais Schaumburg - Wir bauen eine Stadt
Grauzone - Wütendes Glas
Kraftwerk Computerwelt 1981 EP (lyrics sound like a blueprint of today's "surveillance scandals".)
Foyer Des Arts

Re: 80's Music

hhh's posting of "Rockit" reminded me of an '80s film theme.

Re: 80's Music

saneks:
"Liebling, nimm die Rüstungsspirale, und tanz den Gummitwist..." lol.

Malaria needed to be mentioned.

Foyer des Artes: I used to have the album "Die Unfähigkeit zu frühstücken", but found only 2 tracks on youtube...?
(it goes beyond this thread, but max goldt later became a very weird solo musician, and also a genius cabaretist)

And no 80s without Suzanne Vega!

more Einstürzende Neubauten.

This record was very important for me:
Stollwerck Sampler (how cool to find it on the internet!) and opens up a whole universe of underground world music: the already mentioned can with their offsprings, e.g. dunkelziffer and other projects often featuring jaki liebezeit and/or damo suzuki

forgot The Fall - This Nation's saving Grace: I am Damo Suzuki
