Manually tweaking themes beyond replacing colors, that's damn impressive, esp. GTK3! I gave up on GTK3 a long time ago (and thus on GTK theming altogether).
Maybe I should try oomox again; it was pretty rough around the edges last time I did.

Thank you:) It has been a learning experience to be sure. I've enjoyed the ride though.
It looks like there is an oomox compatable theme in the Debian repos "materia-gtk-theme"
I've never tried it but it sounds interesting.

Use the Arc themes available. GTK-2 rc comes out wrong, you need to edit the selected foreground color and reverse the tooltips' fg/bg colors. Let me know if you have issues, I'd be glad to help.
