Finally getting my head around jgmenu 8o
Tint2 menu for showing my keybinds and aliases: a huge time-saver!
And thanks to @malm for removing the border colour from the menu items, with the recent update.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Cog and Pack Rat will agree, it's a practical, maybe farmer/hillbilly, USA credo.

Depends on what you're talking about.. I've been way off in left field this weekend on some things like launchers and menus. If it's smplayer then yeah, tried and true. Black and Blue.

Well, I said don't fix it. I didn't say you couldn't do a little redneck engineering on it. Ductape, some WD-40 and a hammer. An X-Acto Z-Series #1 Knife and a ton of surgical gauze. A pair of pliers and a blowtorch, you hear me, Hillbilly boy?!!!
No, he can't sleep on the floor. What do you think I'm yelling for?!!!

It requires a precision instrument, I think...

Man, I need a knife whose (dang, is that the right spelling?) price range is tree-fitty USD to 28 USD. That's a knife, Dundee!

All I use. Never sharpen again.
Fish come apart like butter.
It's basically a pocket knife with replaceable surgical scapals.

@damo; Nice idea with aliases, would it be hard to extend to alphabetical tree, like
alias | grep ^a #(would be under submenu 'a')
just to make less info on screen at once.

I was thinking of grouping them like I have in my .bash_aliases: submenus for apt-get, locate, git, various etc

@packrat if you can't get by with bailing wire or duct tape... It's pretty bad.

Baling wire, twine, duct tape...
The equivalent for repairing cars & campervans is Lochband - uncounted are the exhaust pipes repaired with this! And I have no idea how you say it in any other language or if it even exists.

Ah, thanks.
Please share the background?
Living & traveling in something like this.
Had to be a bit of a handyman - both for the car itself and the living quarters.
Lochband was so useful because heat & weather resistant, flexible and versatile.
There was a whole bunch of other people living like this (probably still is), sharing tips on places that would allow you to repair your car (a community with some sort of barn or industrial building etc.), and car inspectors that had a soft spot for these indestructible dinosaurs. Even allowed me to have a wood burner (*) - with a stern warning not to use it while driving
I gave up that lifestyle ~15 years ago.
(*) that's not actually mine

Ah, thanks.
Also called mending strap.
Comes in several styles. Copper plated for hanging copper pipe while reducing electrolysis.

Nice. A lifestyle I've enjoyed also. But maybe I should have asked for the wallpaper instead of background.
TIA,
