Re: Wallpapers

Borrowing some work from others ... I've made a couple of wallpapers.

Dr Bunsen - 1920x1080
Bunsen_Labs_Dr_Bunsen.jpg

And of course we at BunsenLabs have tamed the Animal in Debian SID:
Bunsen_Labs_Animal_by_Ututo_S11.jpg

Thanks to damo & ututo for the original wallpapers - like most things, I can only 'tweak'.

Re: Wallpapers

When I saw "Animal" I thought "He's reaching for BunsenLabs." so your wallpaper was a natural.

And of course there are some running BL "SID" but calling it: Animal  It's a natural.

The first I created with this in mindsmile

Re: Wallpapers

one of the very best source of wallpapers i found since years:

http://www.pdf-mags.com

it is actually a pdf magazine index website, most of them are arts-related (some are really very good, in my humble opinion ) - we actually need to extract and crop the pictures from these pdf files, but they almost always results in really great wallpapers

Re: Wallpapers

some wallpapers for those who have the display in vertical position (or don’t mind to crop and resize them) - http://blog.iso50.com/category/wallpapers/

(btw, from the same blog, for who enjoy listening indie music, http://blog.iso50.com/playlist-archive/ has quite a great collection )

(and the posters we find at iso50.com might be great wallpapers as well )

Re: Wallpapers

@damo, gako, thanks, offtopic: What I found interesting is that one can do stuff like that on most saturated days (evenings), like when you don't have time to breath (Not that I'am particulary happy with the results).

Nice work bronto. Having been in commercial art for awhile, I can honestly say my best work happens when I am under heavy deadline pressure. I believe it is because I don't think about it as much. I just rely on instinct to come up with something I believe the customer will like.

Re: Wallpapers

@damo great wallpapa'! I like this version the most because of the colors and the bl logo fits like a charm.

@bronto I'd like to get my hands on blender every time I see your work. Very nice wallpapers. Not sure about the black color if the arch logo.

the blue one is great!! Nothing is stopping me. It's just that I want to improve my skills with inskape and gimp before I start with blender

I found both Inkscape and Blender have very steep learning curves. In fact I first started with Blender because I was finding it too time-consuming to get 3D effects with Inkscape. Now I often make image layers with Blender and import, convert and tweak with Inkscape or GIMP monkey

I work in IT. I totally understand where you're coming from on that as that is also when I do some of my best work.
