Thanks for testing
EDIT: there is a new 12.6MiB (!) version with a polished floor.

Low-poly wallpapers based on Beam (the default wall of our upcoming helium desktop, based on stretch).
All walls are by our loyal forum member, ututo...

Stunning, yes?
No, he can't sleep on the floor. What do you think I'm yelling for?!!!

^ Yes indeed.
Will the lightdm theme be using one as well?
You must unlearn what you have learned.

^ lightdm-gtk-greeter is using the default Beam wall. Easily changed via /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf though, of course.
-edit- Meaning Beam is the default wall for our desktop, and these are knock-offs. However, I've requested to The Team that these images, and any others that ututo creates for helium, get their own debian/BL package (bunsen-wallpapers-ututo), and maybe even make that package be an install option in bl-welcome.

First attempt at a BL logo in POV-Ray:
Took a while to render though:
Total Time: 9 hours 42 minutes 51 seconds (34971 seconds)

@hoas, It does look awesome.

^ Thanks!
Scene file here: https://gist.github.com/Head-on-a-Stick … 004e7be667
I tried to import the logo via Inkscape (which can export POV-Ray object files) but I couldn't figure out how to use it so I hacked up a new font instead and used our flame.svg to make "a","b" & "c" little flame characters, here is the flame.ttf file:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1eohdK … yef69vhhBY
EDIT: it's now called "flames.ttf" (with an added "s") and there is a Debian logo available at the "d" character.

@hoas, Can you import .obj?

Can you import .obj?
Not into POV-Ray (at the moment) but I do enjoy a bit of Blenderising as well
Thanks!

^ Nice
I made a Debian swirl in POV-Ray:
^ That's only 1280x800 though (it takes too long on my X201), I'll do some high resolution versions later.

Another Mitsuba render, this one is based on a scene by Cline et al, original here:
https://www.mitsuba-renderer.org/scenes/torus.zip
EDIT: I've used the clear glass materials as a visual metaphor for an "open" box in which our flame is burning 8)
EDIT2: the Metropolis Light Transport rendering method was used so that image should be approaching photorealism (hopefully).
I have high dynamic range OpenEXR & PPM versions of the image if anybody wants them.

OK, sorry for spamming this thread with my cheesy renders, this will be the last one for a while:
^ That was done with Blender's Cycles rendering engine and it's just a preview (I couldn't upload the larger files), here are the final images and .blend:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1151Xa … 1JFnBR5hAR
The images with 8 in the name use 8 bits per colour (~16 million total), the others have 16 bits per colour (~281 trillion total) which is useful for image manipulation (apparently).
When loading the .blend be sure to uncheck the "load UI" tickbox because I've messed up the interface somehow and I can't figure out how to get it back :8

Well, you did woke me from lazy Sunday . Still find the side-view the most interesting shape (and render).
Tech notes: Rendered with adaptive subdivison (dicing scale set to 0.5px), which I think improves shape a bit on tiny corners. Orographic cam.
Both have that pesky transparency going on, example as wall

Rhetorical question: is it possible to learn such exquisite taste or is it just innate?
Also, is that the Cycles rendering engine?

Don't worry HoaS...you can spam away with those cool wallpapers :-)

One more little one then (a bit noisy, I'll edit in a bigger better version on the morrow):
Not sure what my fascination with shiny balls is about, I suspect that it is not entirely healthy 8o
