I'am back to my classical top tint2 (always visible) and bottom bar (wbar), also visible, but using openbox margins I set that so that it will cover about 40% of wbar when app gets maximized.
Debian logo on top-left was supposed to act as alternative root-menu opener, but it is rarely/never clicked.

I always find your tint2 style unique bronto, for this reason I have always considered very favorite.

Top, going back to my Amiga OS days. Started on 1.2, through 3.1. I think Apple had done research and found that top corners are easier/quicker to find so they started with a top bar. I put the taskbar in Windows on top, as well. Drop down menus make more visual sense, too, than pop up and drop back down as you navigate.

Nice of you, Nili, for asking so many questions.
Tint2 on top and auto-hidden, Plank dock on the bottom, also intelligently-hidden. Sometimes think, why the hell I need a panel or dock, as the menu is called from the bottom left (hot) corner and the skippy-xd from the bottom right (hot) corner.

Always on the bottom.

Left, vertical. I need as much vertical space as possible when writing code. I also managed to convert some of my colleagues to the same style ![]()

Font: Liberation Sans, autohinted

I change my config every month or so when I get bored.
