Re: August 2018 Screenshots

@cog, I got the walls, themes and icons from the ISO. Looks like you're using a non-statler Openbox theme?

IDK I made a fresh account before taking that scrot.  That’s what etc/skel had.  “statler-box”. Might have been a pre-release install or something.

Re: August 2018 Screenshots

@cog thanks for bringing this up!
@hhh a "pure black" theme collection seems like a candidate for a BLOB config alternative, right? It might be quite popular. If it could be integrated with the grub and login screens, would be very cool.

@john np, kind of cool looking at some of the old stuff

@hhh you might check out my Mint-Y-Grey themes on bitbucket too.  they're very much in the #! spirit color wise.

Re: August 2018 Screenshots

Nice! How did you color the gtk3 assets, with a script? A Gimp 2.10 batch command?

Re: August 2018 Screenshots

I've been looking for a dark flat theme to play with, Arc-Dark doesn't quite do it for me. I'm liking what I can do with Maia-Dark from Manjaro. It has a few bugs that I'll probably never figure out, but it has potential...

Re: August 2018 Screenshots

@hhh

Script- apparently that old ArchLabs maintainer Eric made it.

https://github.com/erikdubois/Mint-Y-Colora-Theme

The only thing is it needs to be modified.  I believe script #2 needs 3.18 removed from the gtk3 assets path because lefebre changed that earlier this year.  Then you need to modify the final results gtk2 folders gtkrc’s nselected background color by hand.  Other than that works pretty good.  I did overlay a separate css file on my gtk3 to do some mate panel related tweaks.

Too funny, I discovered his Arc script half an hour before I asked the question!

Gonna see if I can make it work now, thanks for the tips. smile

Re: August 2018 Screenshots

@PackRat
i3 is always nice, gaps or vanilla.

@hhh
You're not making your own GTK theme, or tweaking an existing one, I have made two really custom openbox + tint2 and LXQt/openbox (no scrot) by tweaking Natura to be dark (with gradient), Xfce Evolution to have light gray and pinkish red selections and that sort of stuff, a W****ws 10 ish tint2 with pinkish red accents and a hybrid between LXQt panel's frost and dark theme, emulating my previous tint2.

Anyway, here's my current setup.

You should be able to update Statler and convert it to BL easily so you don't have to wipe that old install...yet. smile

I like how minimal Statler is and it is possible to be just as minimal in BL too.
