Re: Multi-boot Best Practice [SOLVED]

Doesn't BunsenLabs use the Debian installer? In the installer for Debian Jessie and Stretch, you have to run the "Advanced" (or is it "Expert"?) installer to see the option at the end to install or not install grub.

And I believe in recent versions of Ubuntu, installing grub is not optional. You can choose where to install it, but grub will be installed.

But as long as you do want to install grub (most people do), it shouldn't be an issue. The last grub install overwrites previous installs.

Actually that option is available in the non-expert installer but it does not show for UEFI installations.

It could be that was for UEFI systems, in which case it is the same with Debian.

Re: Multi-boot Best Practice [SOLVED]

Thanks for the clarification HOAS. Sorry to pollute the conversation with my UEFI perspective observations. I see OP did specify legacy booting. smile

Re: Multi-boot Best Practice [SOLVED]

@MsMattie You forgot to disclose some hints if the problem was solved or not in an earlier thread here: https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic.php?id=4463       Such threads with linux issues are more usfeul if they contain info on a possible solution.
