Is "Hide" the same as "minimise"?

I understand the latter term but not the former.

^"Hide" is simply starting the process - no window, no icon in taskbar or systray. "Minimize" would according to my understanding show an icon and also - if it's after a boot - lead to a window flicker for a split second (e.g. closing the terminal window via "xdotool getactivewindow windowminimize"). Not that it matters much now, figured it out in the end as "-H" works as well, it just did not like the setting last_active_window True in the config.
