Re: [solved] vlc/mpv/gnomeplayer will not play dvd

As I wrote in post I updated to stretch, I did not install libdvd-pkg, but if I insert the dvd and do the command:
Mpv --dvd-device = / dev / sr0 dvd: // 1
Regularly starts the dvd without any problems, no configurations in.config / mpv
Also if I try to install libdvd-pkg,I am asked to install many packages, so I did nothing!
Here the result if I start from terminal with:
Mpv --dvd-device = / dev / sr0 dvd: // 1

ettore@ectorpc:~$ mpv --dvd-device=/dev/sr0 dvd://1

Re: [solved] vlc/mpv/gnomeplayer will not play dvd

Thanks for this, I've just installed libdvd-pkg and set it up now. The only problem I'm having is that I can't find a way to adjust (i.e. increase) the resolution in VLC, though the video's still watchable without it.

[EDIT: I've just gone into Mint, which has the same problem with playing DVDs in VLC, and found I can't adjust the video resolution there either.]
