^ Sorry for the thread drift, but there is a BunsenLabs ARM version. Presumably that can be installed on a Pi?

IIRC the BunsenLabs ARM edition was built on vanilla Debian ARM, so it wouldn't be compatible with the Raspberry Pi's Broadcom chip.  (The Raspberry Pi Foundation's commitment to Broadcom hardware is a bone of contention in the Open Hardware SBC community.)  The scripts to "Bunsenize" a Debian netinstall should work in Raspbian though.

@martix the panel on top is a set of 4 separated tint2 panels (pager, taskbar, systray and clock) plus a small conky bar between the taskbar and the systray!

The tint2 set is based on ututo's work: link.

The bottom panel is xfce4-panel.

The BL logo is already in the system, as damo explains.

I see, thank you. The desktop looks really great.

I'm wondering: On #! I do remember having Cairo Dock installed with an icon that provided an application launcher (just like a start menu with all the installed software in several categories).

Is there maybe such a launcher available on #bÍ with a dock or panel?

Back on battery with my ThinkPad so a new addition to the statusbar:

I didn't want to use conky so I have this line in ~/.xinitrc instead:

while true; do xsetroot -name "Battery: $(apm | awk '/Battery/{print $4}')  •  $(date +"%A %d %B  •  %T")"; sleep 1; done &

I'm sure there's a better way of getting the information but that will do for now.

I have tried versions in C compiled into binaries but they always cause my CPU to race even if the memory usage is better

And before you ask Nili, that desktop also boots to ~55MiB with 3 xterms, top, systat & tmux running (64-bit system), the CPU overhead seems (slightly) lower in OpenBSD compared to Debian but maybe this is just my imagination.

I always used my dwm with a code similar to yours with other usages features CPU/RAM, Bandwidth, etc...
It's fun to exploit all opportunities without the intervention of third parties like conky/conky-cli.

Infact mine boots with 25MB (systemD) @X, then getting started WM reach 31MB
it's a (32-bit) 2007 DELL, boot fast and use less ram usage based on old hardware well thanks to 32-bit architecture plain debian.
However, I have also done little domestic work

That is usually the default behavior for stacking window managers.

b. Using bold fonts for 'window titles/clock/etc' doesn't really work (artistically speaking) or is it just me?

I find that to be hit and miss depending on the font and/or color scheme.
