Almost +1. The only reason why I don't fully switch to it as my sole terminal is when used as drop-down not hiding when losing focus. If anyone knows a way, please, share.

Pretty sure this the script I have used in the past. - although it may just toggle as well.

It's actually fairly common for users to script a pull down urxvt if you're inclined to search for one.

Thanks, PackRat. Yes. it just toggles like all the other scripts I've tried. For me the interesting part of a drop-down terminal goes beyond toggling and positioning windows @ normal level. It's displaying at top level and autohiding when losing focus. That's the point for me and what makes it interesting. If an additional action is required for toggling (like pressing a key) there are alternative ways to do the same and I don't find it quite useful as "true drop-down". Wish my scripting abilities were much better... In the meanwhile xfce4-terminal keeps going into my systems.
