Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/Weather.com/NWS/MoonGiant)

I just copied and pasted from earlier in the thread. Seems to work fine for me.

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/Weather.com/NWS/MoonGiant)

I've added an announcement on the first post about this conky 1.9 - conky 1.10 thing that seems to have confused many people.

I've also added fvirgola80's conkyrcs and S11's new conky companions' idea.

Good work everyone!

Actually BL is Debian Stable - and stable has conky v1.90.  If you are using BL you've added conky v1.10 from the backports.

Just make sure you install conky-all, not conky.  Don't ask me how I know that... ops

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/Weather.com/NWS/MoonGiant)

To make things less confusing I did a "Mod Edit" of the posts up to this one and added:

»»»»» This is for conky v1.90 «««««

as the top line if the post shows conky code so people don't get confused now that conky v1.10 is out and being used.  No code for v1.10 up to this point - unless I missed it, in which case; OOPS! Sorry!

Take note of this; complete with KrunchTime's warning.

Have fun and make sure you're starting a conky for the conky version you are running.

Hello friends,
the Conky's (companion etc.) are working perfectly!

Strikingly, the CPU and memory usage is low.
@mrpeachy's  ".wunrci-conky" caused by the falldown-pictures higher capacity utilization.

Good work, @El Conkystador and @TBG!  kiss

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/Weather.com/NWS/MoonGiant)

Hi unklar

Yea, Teo's conkys don't use a lot of CPU cycles at all.  LUA scripts do use a bit more, and if I am right isn't that falldown conky script interactive?  Which make for more cycles yet.  Although not really bad.

My conkys run a 'little' heaver ... but then I run a few more.  smile

I'm working on a super-secret-mega-project using Teo's "wunderground" script - plus stuff.  smile

It's the "plus stuff" that makes it special.  Not saying anything more.  wink

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/Weather.com/NWS/MoonGiant)

Well I think the "Mega Conky" will be shelved... look at this:

#Maximum size of user text buffer, i.e. layout below TEXT line in config file
# (default is 16384 bytes)
max_user_text 48552

Talk about a waste of CPU resource hungry conky HOG, my daily conkys, 10, with nothing else running draw on the average 2-3% CPU usage.  This beasty settles in at 7% after a startup flux of 17-21% and it's not finished, I haven't even touched the "moon" stuff yet.

Probably best to stick with what I have.

Oh well, nice ideas go "POOF" at times.

Sorry ... you're welcome Teo.

Excuse me, I have no idea and I'm not even Teo.

Borne in mind I admit that the original form  https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic … 8215#p8215
also clearly arranged affects. Because the hour division is horizontal.  wink

Re: Conky weather+moon scripts (Accuw/WUndergr/Weather.com/NWS/MoonGiant)

Wow nice Sector .... I have an idea why alongside the weather forecast is not vertical iseriamo moon phases? It would be nice to have to weather forecasts to 36 hours to have the moon phases can you do for me if Obi-wan edit the script would be able to take the information of the four-day successes that already retrieves the script itself how about Yoda?
See you later

The "Sorry" was because Teo thanked me and I didn't reply, very rude of me.

That is a different "script" you linked to.  It's the "1c) Accuweather Hourly Forecast - 1c_12-2-14" 16 hour display.

What I'm using for the MEGA CONKY is the 2b WUnderground API - All users - 2b_14-3-15 script (check the image) that can display the Next 36 Hours.  smile

I decided to finish it ... but keep it in a box, ie: with borders, just because I.   cool

I'll make an OpenBox menu entry to open it when I want.
