Re: BL added to DistroWatch

BunsenLabs is joint with Knoppix to 51st place, and sits two spots behind Red Hat in rankings covering the last seven days.

Good work, chums.

So we're 2 places behind the biggest GNU/Linux operation on the planet?

I say, that's rather good.

And to think that some people claim the DistroWatch rankings system is meaningless...

Keep clicking folks, we can get it in the top ten if we all try ]:D

Re: BL added to DistroWatch

^ Everybody's curious about the latest thing and they've all heard about Red Hat.  I'm sure every other Debian-based distro built on Openbox gets a bit of a Colbert bump when it gets listed on DW with a tyop on the cover. wink

The numbers are quite impressive though, especially considering we've only been listed there half of the seven-day period.

You did that "typo" on purpose right?

Where are people seeing the numbers - the 51st place??

Also - 2052 downloads.  smile

OH!  Thank you.

You're welcome.

Actually, it took me some time to figure it out myself ...  big_smile

Now, a message to the BunsenLabs forum: embrace yourself, get ready, prepare for the flood of Introduction and semi-newbies, with trivial problems. I hope forum will be able to absorb all that forceful 'attack' ... and become even better and more friendly forum.

I know that plenty of users here are really very very knowledgeable and ready to offer helping hand. I can offer my modest help, as much as I will have free time to do it.

However, I would be most afraid of malicious users (remember ew? babaji?). I just hope there is enough ban-man-power here to eliminate this kind of destruction  smile  smile

Go BunsenLabs, go!!

Re: BL added to DistroWatch

Well said iMBeCil - and I believe we are prepared.  Maybe even a bit 'overstaffed' with regards to mods and admins - since the mod staff was increased over at #! just before the "We're closing" notice and we all came here en mass as mods/developers - I can develop B&W film - so yea, I think we are prepared.  smile

Re: BL added to DistroWatch

DW should read something like:

BunsenLabs Linux
    OS Type: Linux
    Based on: Debian
Origin: Third Rock from the Sun
    Architecture: i386, x86_64
    Desktop: Openbox
    Category: Desktop
    Status: Active
Popularity: 277 (8 hits per day)

because as HoaS said: BunsenLabs is a truly international effort

Re: BL added to DistroWatch

There are some quality distros already with lower DW rankings than BL. Starting to feel a bit embarassed...

Anyway +1 to iMBeCil's comment. Let's show the world what a good forum community can be like!
