guess i'll have to wait a few days.
the git version is stable enough.
btw, you are absolutely right, i'd rather switch back to windows then start using another panel

I tried to flag the Alpine package but there's an error with their website redirection so I will have to email the maintainer.

I happen to know that the OpenBSD port is currently maintained by @shep, who is active over at forums.debian.net & daemonforums.org so I could tell him as well (or update the port myself and send him a diff, which would be preferable).

OpenBSD is a different story, because they patch it heavily, but they never contacted me to try to integrate anything, so more work for them I guess.

In the case of tint2, the port is maintained via the mailing list:

This means that any OpenBSD user can update the port — I would have done it myself but I use dwm in my OpenBSD box.

I have wanted to learn OpenBSD porting for a while now so I will take the opportunity and see if I can do it for this new release 8)

I'm sure it's not complicated, but I think it's best for the project if the package is maintained by regular users.

What bothered me a bit was that I was seeing all kinds of patches in various distros, some that didn't even do what they were supposed to do, and the only distro that always contacted me about them was gentoo.

FYI In case you want to try helping them (or any other distro) with the packaging, I don't want to get involved. If there is a bug report on gitlab, I will reply, otherwise you're on your own.

I have no idea why the version starts with "0." but I thought it best to keep the practice.

When I sort the patches and submit the diff, I will raise the versioning issue with the ports tree maintainers, thanks!

You can't do that unless you're a Debian Developer with upload rights. (You're not, are you?) Even if you were, the correct procedure is to contact the maintainer, offering the patch, if you've got one, and suggest that they upload an upgrade. NMUs are for exceptional circumstances, like the maintainer is MIA, or the patch is very urgent and the maintainer can't be contacted...

tint2's Debian maintainer has a big list of packages to take care of, but last updated tint2 in November, which isn't so terribly bad, really. The latest upgrade has been noticed so it will probably come through before too long. If it is indeed urgent, you could certainly consider sending him a message.

Hi! First thanks for tint2, awesome bar. There is a minor issue I experienced. Searched everywhere and landed here in the end. I use it on a touchscreen device, multiple (2) desktops, vertical. When I click on the icon, it "toggle_iconify"s (as it's set), when I do it via touching, it's the same - everything fine.

However when I touch an icon (task) and want to switch to the other desktop by touching on it (instead of clicking), it drag&drops the icon there. Via mouseclick it switches the desktop as it should, showing the open windows there. Here an other user described the same on bsd. When I touch the icon, touch the same desktop, touch the other desktop, it does not drag&drop the icon. I have 0.12.12-3 (on stretch based debian). Is there anything I could try to stop this drag&drop behavior?

Thanks for the suggestion. Tried different versions but the issue remains, via touch the icon gets drag&drop.
