I'm using xplanet, the conky slideshow is at the bottom-right of the screen. I couldn't find a realtime cloud maps for xplanet, where did you find yours? Could you share your xplanet config? love your screenshot
well done

It's not realtime unfortunately.
I used to use this, but...
Could you share your xplanet config? love your screenshot

well done
Thanks
Take a look at my "xplanetstuff" git repo.
This was scene 7, the command should be:
xplanet -glare 0 -radius 40 -target earth -lat 36 -lon 36 -center +840+540 -glare 0 -background "$HOME/images/wall/xplanet/space-1680x1050-grey111.png"
Take a good look at the "getbluemarble" script!!!

wow your scripts were really good writing compare to my ugly one, I'll try to use them (step by step) thanks a lot for your work, I didn't know that some people here were interested in xplanet. It's a good news What are you using to display processes on the top right of your screen?

I have an error message with your script because of xset stuff and screensaver:
one: Not running xplanet because screensaver is going to activate soon
It's strange because I don't activate it I don't use screensaver ?

Thanks.
The script does not check for all dependencies.
In this case, look at lines 180-183.
You need to install xssstate (maybe not; see next post).
The script is probably overkill for your use case; it focuses on reducing the load on the system (don't start processing if screen blanking is about to kick in, limit cpu usage with cputool), and having different scenes at your fingertips.
Have you downloaded the bluemarble imagery already? Highly recommended.
I have also post-processed most files: adapted resolution, less saturation for day images, make the night images darker.
What are you using to display processes on the top right of your screen?
top.

I put some comments into the 'one' script, be so kind and
git pull
Also please show me the complete output of the script.

thanks for your answers
I already have suckless-tools with xssstate inside and the blue marble pictures are downloaded in the xplanet folder.
here the output in the terminal (only the star background is displaying on the screen):

OK.
- you're wasting cpu cycles setting apollo_ng_clouds=1 - it doesn't work anymore.
- if your screensaver is completely disabled (is it? check with xset q?) you need to remove the section that deals with that.
Actually I did that now on a new branch "no_xset" - haven't tested it though.

exactly - setting apollo_ng_clouds attempts to download something old and outdated again and again checking checksums...
btw, you also have to take a look at the config files and maybe move them to your ~/.xplanet directory but I guess you know that.
here's the xset q:
Yes, you said your screensaver is completely disabled.
the repo you cloned - I created a branch for you called no_xset.
Try this:
git pull
git checkout no_xset
