Re: What are you listening to right now?

^ Feedburner itself is a service for bloggers/publishers, afaict. You don't need to be registered to it to pull the feeds. Before Firefox removed the RSS feature (still might be available in ESR builds, I'm not certain), you could just copy-pasta the xml feed link into the address space or click the symbol on the toolbar to give yourself a simple preview of what you'd see if you added it to your reader application. Now you'll probably need a browser add-on that brings back RSS bookmark functionality. Either way, I figured copying that link they provide under the "...with something else (copy this address):" in FeedBurner pages and pasting it into the config of your Feed/Podcatcher app would work. Was I mistaken?

Some sites give you a link to subscribe to their podcast, which usually brings you to the FeedBurner (or competing service) page. That was the case with the Phonica/OffTheRecord and BunkerNY pages above. On the OffTheRecord page, the 'Subscribe' link is next to the 'Download' link, right below the SoundCloud and Mixcloud embedded player. That's how I got you the feeds. The page layout might be affected depending on how aggressive you have NoScript/uMatrix set up, but they're there. On the Bunker page, it's an obvious big link listed on the right.

Long given up on getting feeds for music. Thanks to SoundCloud and similar services, most publications don't even bother keeping their main websites up-to-date any more. Couple that with the fragmentation caused by the big tech/marketing companies smelling money from podcast analytics and the likes of Mozilla doing what's best for themselves instead of their users, and you end up with a steaming pile of rancid fish where good ol' RSS/Atom would simply "just work" in the past. I use RSS for regular day-to-day general and finance news these days, nothing more. For music these days, I rely on my internal psychic powers, some SoundCloud search-fu, some email newsletters and my posse of MDMA-fed mutant gerbils.

sorry. the direct link works just fine, but trying to open feedburner.com redirects me to a google account page. weird.

i missed that!
i see it now.
