After a very long hiatus, I'm running BunsenLabs again. My aging System76 laptop seems to have lost its oomph and other distros devour the already weak battery (even new, a battery only lasts about 3 hrs.). I use the laptop for writing and research if I'm not on my desktop workstation, so I don't a lot of bells and whistles and don't use it for more than an hour or two. Meanwhile, I like what I see--quite an evolution from good old CrunchBang #!
Kudos to Damo and crew for Helium! It looks great and the install was fast and smooth.

Hi g33zr welcome back to the Lab!

Thanks, John. BL is great for this old laptop, even though the specs are still pretty good. At least I'm able to squeeze out a bit more battery life. If the Mrs. didn't use the desktop, I'd be tempted to run it there too. I really love the lean, clean look of BL!

Welcome to the forum!
For even more battery time one can also try to tinker with Laptop Mode Tools and/or Powertop.

Martix, I'm running Powertop. I think it's time to replace the battery.

For a simple life I'm in deep agreement with you !
( keeps me happy especially when other OSes come tumbling down on upgrade 2x )
Snappy live-usb install keeps me coming back for more !

+1 as laptop batteries start losing their oomph after the first 2 years. I'd certainly replace the battery if it no longer holds a full charge and discharges so quickly.
