#! Threads not to be forgotten

Idea behind this topic:
Search the #!forums on waybackmachine
for threads that are for some reason relevant nowadays (humor/fun included wink ) and link it over here.

The epic 30 Window Managers in 30 days thread is a fine start.
Full of knowledge and a sometimes funny read.

Re: #! Threads not to be forgotten

I know. Our forums are pretty damn awesome, and corenominal is the one who started that. I've been a big proponent for allowing hand-holding to encourage n00bs while still being an "advanced" user experience, with no objections from The Team. Look at me, I don't know programming and yet I am able to modify themes, and I was the one who cracked live-build's cryptic documentation and created the first Live testing ISOs and then the first official BL release ISOs. That configuration allowed @johnraff to take live-build to the next level for helium.

We have a logo designed by a forum member. All our Team members were forum members first. The current Team live in Japan, Germany, United Kingdom and United States of America. We have support in Latin America and France. We're worldwide.

The fact that we don't discourage, and in fact encourage, usage and development of other distros is a big plus, too.

Also terribly truncated. "The end" thread there is a handfull of posts on one page, and I don't even see the continuation thread.

^It also seems erratic - try again and you might get a different result.

That looks like a fun thread! I checked it out a bit. I'm glad OP in that thread tested afterstep. I've always loved the idea of afterstep. But it's lack of documentation always got me. About once a year I install it, use it for a week, then drop it. I guess it's the nostalgia in me.

I've bookmarked the thread though so I can peruse it later. Thanks for sharing it with us.
