Hello bunsen

Hi,

Coming from crunchbang linux, I feel like at home here already.

Here's an updated copy-paste from my introduction post to crunchbang forum from 2009:

I'm very new to Linux (started 2 weeks ago), but a crunchbang linux user since 2009, really interested by it and by the open source.

In my opinion, having the right to view the code of a software I purchase, and to modify it should be compulsory.

I have recently bought an eee-pc 1000H (second hand with win XP pre-installed), and removed the OS, first installed Ubuntu, xUbuntu, then few days ago with Cruncheee.  I like it since it boots faster than Ubuntu, and seems lighter in general been running crunchbang and bunsenlabs as a main system on all my machines, and don't see myself using anything else. Because: lightweight and stable. Also, I like the sound of the community in this site.

I'm not use to wikis. There may be some enhancemens I could propose to the wiki (for example, adding a link to this page : http://crunchbanglinux.org/wiki/crunche … stall_tips at the end of that one : http://www.crunchbanglinux.org/wiki/cru … tion_guide ); do you prefer that I register and modify the pages myself, or that I post these remarks inside the forum ?

See you soon around.

alef

Hi! Welcome to the forum! May I ask: What battery time do you get on your x250?

I have the model with an internal battery, and a 3-cells removable one (Reference: thinkpad battery 68). US model, used in Europe.

I'm not very happy, I get less than 3 hours in total, doing web development, watching movies, with wifi turned off. And the batteries seem to wear fast (based on tlp stats - "capacity" measure).

The x240 with only one battery 68+ (no internal battery) gave me more like 4 hours, like the x1 Carbon...

Re: Hello bunsen

^Thank you for the details. That's indeed disappointing. I think the internal battery was introduced in the x230 first. I read about reviews describing almost ten hours battery time with the extended external battery. With the original smaller battery it's around 5-6 hours. Even older models like an x200 or 201 reach with a 7800 mAh battery arond 5-6 hours (or around 4 if the battery is old).
