Outage on 2017-01-16 from 05:29-12:50 CET

Our main server shut down at 05:29 this morning without reason. Actually, not a proper shutdown of the guest OS, the KVM instance just got stopped.

As it is a virtualized server, I believe that a defect on our hoster's side is to blame.

I'm currently investigating to see if the cause can be narrowed down.

PS. Actually, I got several email alerts just when the server went offline and probably could have come back online earlier, but I was travelling via train this morning and had neither my laptop nor my SSH keys with me nor does Vodafone Germany manage to provide me with uninterrupted LTE service whenever I travel on high-speed trains. My apologies that I couldn't fix this earlier.

I got confirmation that the problem is on the hoster's side and not ours. They are working on a permanent fix. There might be further instabilities until then.
