Not sure if linked before, but I found this helpful today;

Basically a front-end for Goolag Translate, for the times LibreTranslate doesn't cut it.

Re: Cool Random Internet Stuff

^ very nice:

Inspired by projects like NewPipe, Nitter, Invidious or Bibliogram, Lingva scrappes through GTranslate and retrieves the translation without using any Google-related service, preventing them from tracking.

uMatrix says there's no third party requests at all. Nice.

I hope this goes down in history as a legendary distro along with Hannah Montana and Barbie Linux distro's.

It looks like the The Matrix.
This technique will probably be used when Hollywood remakes the film. Actually whenever they recycle any film. No need to go out and film, whn you need only a computer cluster.
And probably no need for actors.
I remember that film Simone https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simone_(2002_film)
Almost 20 years later, the tech exists.
The future is here.
There was a video on YouTube chanel "2 minute papers" how AI creates a new face combining several faces.

Apart from that those photos that were used for machine learning were low quality or the car camera software applied some odd colour filters.
Maybe if they used photos from a smartphone camera the results would be even better.
In a few years games and simulations will be very realistic.
Maybe even someone will start to bulid a Matrix.
One day you'll be able to be in the simulation where you race Hasan on a bike in the streets of the Big Apple or watch him play violin.
People call it virtual reality, I don't like that marketing name so I name it a computer simulation.

Wow. I'm going to have to read this a second time, but it sounds like what some have been preaching for years, we now get to see in print.
the archive has the page, but the pictures don't show up very well.

So this university professor is upset by people using a tool like Alexa to buy toilet paper instead of getting in their car and going to the store for it?

Maybe she would prefer people simply stop wiping?

Re: Cool Random Internet Stuff

When this music was new, we didn't have videos of everything; we could mostly just listen to the records. I always thought the Stones had brought in some blues harmonica expert musician on this song. Last night, I learned that the harmonica expert was Mick Jagger. You really do learn something new every day.

@ratcheer, most people don't know that Mick Jagger did backup vocals on the Carly Simon hit 'You're So Vain'. "Don't chyou! Don't chyou!"

Yeah, if you listen carefully that sounds a lot like MJ there. Interesting, because all these years I'd been thinking the song actually was about him.
