May 2021 Screenshots

Ooops, we must have been preoccupied with other things this week! A bit late, but....

This is where you can post screenshots of your setup, as long as it's in line with our somewhat elaborate rules and instructions...

Please use thumbnails. Do not embed images larger than approx 250x250px (62,500px) into posts, use thumbnails linking to a hosted image instead. Thanks!

Various online free image hosts are available, such as Imgur, imgbb, freeimage.host, scrot.cloud, postimg.cc, etc...

Use the following BB code for posting please:

[img]<url of thumbnail>[/img]

** Update for Imgur users **

Imgur only provides the link to the full image, but just add "t" to the name to get a thumbnail link, and the filename extension eg:

7S2EJEgt.png
[ img]https://i.imgur.com/7S2EJEgt.png[/img ]
                                                    ^

Imgur also provides a variety of thumbnail sizes, and the linked BBCode, in the image "View and edit" screen.

imgur wrote:

Sizes:  Original · Small Square · Big Square · Small Thumbnail · Medium Thumbnail · Large Thumbnail · Huge Thumbnail

Repeat: To get the linked direct image you need make sure to add the file extension to the url.  Their recommended BB code doesn't really convey this properly.

*******************
If you just want to upload a screenshot to Imgur, you can avoid a lot of the url-editing etc if you use the BunsenLabs built-in bl-image-upload utility:

Menu > BL Utilities > Take Screenshot > Imgur - Upload Screenshot > Anonymous Upload (or via Imgur account) > Screenshot Now (or whatever)

Then middle-click in the forum Message window to paste the link:SdicE1Mt.png

You can then "Delete" the image if desired, but don't delete the uploaded image if you want to post it roll
*******************
Once again when choosing a thumbnail size please keep in mind our approx 250x250px (62,500px) thumbnail file size constraints.

Stage2, removing nm-applet icon with simple custom script (nmCont) that monitors connectivity using nmcli. The idea here is mostly cosmetic, meaning to just start nm-applet when needed.

Unrelated, playing with picom shaders (this one makes everything (but wallpaper) black&white)

spectrwm has always had the low resource footprint; and handles dual monitors great OOTB like i3. Doesn't get the respect it deserves.

spectrewm would be the Bond Villain fork. monkey

@brontosaurusrex - most excellent.

My preferred fork, of course. The fork is lightly shaken in vodka, ice, and sexy women and is served with a lone olive garnish, a small atoll in a very dry sea.

"No Mr. Bond, I expect you to fork!"

Re: May 2021 Screenshots

BTW, my scrot uses Starship as a shell replacement for bash, thanks to b-rex for the suggestion. A terminal font from Nerdfont is required, I went with Monofur Nerd Font because it's round...

Re: May 2021 Screenshots

damo, packrat, hhh, brontosaurusrex, 8.bit.al unklar, thank you for the hard work
and that Beethoven should be here in BL forums is no surprise...I remember once I read that Beethoven said...something like..."When I am "well-tuned" ...I can hear all the parts of my composition at once/simultaneously..."

Re: May 2021 Screenshots

Beethoven, where did that come from? Well, why not, here's Schroeder (probably Vince Guaraldi). Take less than 4 minutes and watch this, you'll be glad you did...

Ah, 'Meep to Joy' in my sig! Nice.

Obviously a euphamism for "high as a kite", am I right?

^ See the first post in thread regarding our thumbnail requests for posting here. That said, your scrot isn't so huge and it's nice and chocolatey BunsenLabs minimal, I say we allow it. smile

Re: May 2021 Screenshots

All the music has been downloaded and mixed for Dub U Crazy Episode 24, presented by Kat Skinner. I just have to add the narration tomorrow and submit it for airing this Sunday.

I don't know why the Oomox version and custom-theme I'm using makes that Audacious time-slider so comically large, but I love it.

Here it is normal, using Adwata-dark...

Yeah, in this instance I think honking huge is better. It's a watermelon.
