So I've done some things with brtfs. Surprisingly, there is no single tutorial on how to proceed in various use cases. I might actually spin up a few Debian WMs and continue along the LVM lines. Stay tuned. Good to see you guys.

Might be old news to some of you (hence why I'm posting here and not in the T&T section or notinen's Search Youtube Sans Browser thread), but it's a new find for me; https://github.com/pystardust/ytfzf

A little disappointed to see my own work being overtaken by something as awesome as this...
Loading thumbnails is very slow, but this is very cool in any case. fzf itself is a very cool utility.

I found the answer to this, just leaving this here in case anyone else is lucky enough to be part of the "small percentage of Firefox users currently testing this experimental feature":

You had me at "The Song of the Earth". Leonard Bernstein, I was all "meh". monkey

-edit- Thank you, YouTube, for having this next in que. A repost of mine, I'm sure...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZX_XCYokQo

Jebus flipping Frankenstein, freaking Phantom of the Opera. It's a Bach horror movie with the greatest jewel as the Easter Egg, the recording. Look at his jaw clenching oddly, that's him singing. The recording engineer was a genius for micing the piano that well without picking up Gould's moaning and humming and whining.

At 12 and a half minutes, Frankenstein orgasms and his rebirth afterwards is one of the most glorious things in music.

Fire is a good servant but an evil master.
The same is with technology in the service of humanity.
It is a good servant when you control it but an evil master when others control it.

Every solution has the good reason and the real reason.
Whenever a politician opens his/her mouth and says
we need this new law, bridge, highway, technology because of this and that,
there is a reason they tell you.
The real reason is usually financial.
A Faustian Bargain is: here is a global reason, we won't tell you the real reason.

The result of two centuries of wailing against taxes and strong government: the whole legislature is weak, riddled with loopholes, serving the corporations that pay the politicians, and not the people.

The problem isn't technology here.

And as the article points out, the US of NA isn't the only country that has this sort of systemic problem.

It's like reading about a tsunami or civil war in Africa. Such horrors, so distant from my personal life & reality. Yet:

any disciplinary technology is tried out on powerless people first, and gradually works its way up the privilege gradient to encompass the whole world.

Reminds me of what Maria Ressa said about the Phillippines:

We're your dystopian future.

Well, is it? Replies so far seem to be taking a priori that it is, but I'd like to hear a first, or second, hand account.

I'm pretty sure such action would be considered outrageous in most countries.
