Been away for a bit, gotta catch up on my listening...

Dobbie, I gave Evoken a listen, and I like it. I went ahead and listened to their other album Atra Mors, sludgy, pretty slow and doomy, so I enjoyed it! Gotta download this one. Have you listened to Atra Mors?  Plus these mates are from new my home town here in NJ!

I love the sound of taiko what awesome power sound they made, can't flee from memory.

A few years ago saw a movie about a gang boy that play normal heavy metal drumms also a band that play taiko called The Drummer movie trailer

"What's the point of drumming?

You hear it and it's gone.

No.

It can stay in your heart"

This movie highly recommended for each metal heads.

Re: What Are You Listening To? MetalHead Edition

While I'm not in love with the vocals, some of the guitar and drum work is pretty good. I listened to their other album " Carrion Skies" last night and I'm currently spinning up this one "Epoch" for my post christmas Saturday morning. It's ok, so far... 7/10

Fen - Epoch

Swallow the Sun - Songs From The North I, II, III

I find these guys pretty average normally but disc three is particularly good, especially if you like Metal slow, dark and extremely heavy.

Re: What Are You Listening To? MetalHead Edition

OK, I gots to ask.  Why in heaven's name do so many metal bands have to have names like Gory Deadly Overkill Title of Fatal Death?  That's always bugged me.

Re: What Are You Listening To? MetalHead Edition

@Horizon_Brave:  Would you listen to a band with a name like King's X or Symphony X?  (Granted, King's X is more hard rock than metal, but you get my drift.  Also granted their names both have Xtremely Kool Letterz.)  Not looking for names like "Hugs and Puppies" (another Buffy reference), just names that won't drive away potential listeners who aren't looking for grimdark.
