Rules...
Only one quote submission in a 24 hour period.
No fake/half-true quotes, like Ben Frankin's "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." Quotes should be reasonably verified.
Name the author.

Somebody here on these forums quoted Isaac Asimov:
There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

The young lady (upper twenties? Hard to tell as she was wewaring a mask, of course.) During our conversation I mentioned how perception of time is really weird. She responded...
It's like the days are long but the years are short.
"That's it!" I replied. She's an old soul, apparently.

Oh, so we're not limited to historical royalty and famous scholars (that Asimov quote was me btw, ohnonot)? In that case, here's a couple that (probably originated on social media somewhere) have been stuck in my head ever since I read em in one of the newsletters I subscribe to;

And no, it's not "Famous Quote" or "Celebrity Quote". Just the three rules. You cheated by posting two at once, I'll let it slide this time.

@glittersloth: if you say so.
Nice quotes btw.
Some quotes from a song I like for its lyrics (and its groove):
The truth is hidden in a complex series of offshore companies
The truth is encrypted
The truth is your browsing history
The truth is an unnamed source
The truth is not available for comment at this time
The truth is an infinite playlist

Life’s hard. It’s even harder if you’re stupid.
(For the Latinos he didn’t mean estupido but tonto, willfully ignorant types)

^ lol, I just added that because stupid and dumb mean very different things in Spanish and English
Stupid in Spanish leans more towards disability which I have a lot of compassion for, where willful ignorance is well you know...

Not sure what this means.
I heard yesterday that a group of architects is not a flock, but "a jealousy of architects" - is this what that refers to? "A podcast of men"?
I remembered it while listening to podcasts yesterday; the majority of them have also female speakers, but your quote might apply to Linux podcasts.

KGIII on LQ:
I think the polite way to say this is, "The Internet was a lot different when it required a degree of skill to access it."
I'm not really entitled to use that quote (haven't been around the internet back then) but it's such a well-behaved yet potentially insulting phrase
elcore from LQ:
As the old saying goes "If you give a man a fish he can eat for a day. If you teach a man to fish he can eat for a lifetime".
Very noble thing to do, only these days there are fishing companies profiting on fishing contracts.
So I guess if you look at it from their perspective, diluting a fishing forum until it's nothing more than an advert for canned fish would be your top priority.
(this is about a suspicion of systematic trolling on LQ)

Hmm. Another two-fer (US slang meaning two-for-the-price-of-one). It looks like Rule 1 says "quote submission", so I should allow it. One post per 24 hours, put ten quotes in that post if you want.
In God We Trust, all others we monitor.
Source, and I highly recommend this video, BBC4's "James May at the Edge of Space". It has many notable quotes from May...

I've been given... makes sour face briefly ... a schedule...
I assume he's sour because he knows he's about to say US "skedjule", because it was handed to him by the US Air Force, instead of British "shedjule" and not because he doesn't like schedules.
How do they pronounce it in Australia and New Zealand? In Canada it's like in the US. South Africa?
