In my experience you start with Perry Mason and Matlock then move towards Murder she Wrote and Poirot. That’s the hard stuff.

The new Perry Mason show was very good, but nothing like the original.

The RIAA complained about youtube-dl (not surprising), github took them down immediately (somewhat surprising).
I hope github will get at least a bloody nose out of this.
Meanwhile, I wonder if youtube-dl devs thought about this possibility in time and mirrored their git repos to elsewhere...
Downloads still work as usual.

... and Poirot.
Unpopular opinion. Although it may be faithful to the novels, I do not like the David Suchet portrayal of Poirot. It's way to prissy for me. I'm sure it's because I saw "Murder On The Orient Express" (1974) at a too-young age and it scarred me for life, but Albert Finney is just exceptional as Poirot, and the movie is great.

Exceptional? I consider this as movie acting on the highest level, Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs and Val Kilmer in Tombstone. This is... astonishing acting. His all-star cast can't keep up in a lot of scenes. And the music is scary as hell.

I hoped this link works, it's the best of the three...

Anyway, I recommend this movie.
-edit- Astonishing isn't quite the right word. His performance is riveting.

^ thanks for sharing.
Of course I am aware of the larger issue at hand.
But so specifically targeted at Uyghurs!
And more disconcerting information about using online images, with or without consent, on such a large scale for such dubious "research".
Another good counter-argument when people try to shrug it all off with "but I have nothing to hide".
And as always, scientists crying crocodile tears when their "purely scientific" research is being "abused" ... I can imagine Chinese suits with bags full of money running around the USA promising good pay for this sort of "research" ...

That's nothing. Someone's trying to generate steak from human DNA...
https://www.techtimes.com/articles/2543 … balism.htm
All the sources I have for this are trash, so take it with a grain of salt. Get it? Salted human steak.
The Ouroboros Steak can be grown from the cells that are scraped from the inside of your cheeks, but the ones that are on display are made from tissues bought from the American Tissue Culture Collection, then it is fed with a serum that is made from old donated blood--growing without requiring FBS.
*spoken very dryly, and the first word half sarcastically*
Yummy. Grill time and temperature, if you'd be so kind. I'll choose the wine.

Someone restored and colourized a video from 1920 that depicts rural life in Serbia.
Two years after WWI Serbia lost about a third of the population, 60% of able men.
So the young generation had to take over the work on the fields and in the houses.

I knew about this episode as soon as the Trump became a candidate. There is another episode with Ivanka Trump and 2028 campaign. :-)

You know it's legally possible to change your name. You could officially be "Unverified Muppet" in under a month! What a passport you'll have!

Yeah, it sounds like something the Romans might've come up with - to name a child after an influential publication.
I mean: Primus, Tertius, Quintus... ffs mom and dad is hierarchy really that important to you, or is that literally all you could come up with?
...
And like something Monty Python would joke about: "My name is Luxury Yacht, but it's pronounced Throatwobbler Mangrove!"
My apologies to the proud parents, I still don't know what this is really about, or whether "first child" isn't meant figuratively. Yeah, maybe they are two entrepreneurs and their first "child" really is a newspaper?

I presume all you good people are just pretending not to understand the various meanings of the dash in an English sentence (especially abbreviated)?

At least the Romans didn't use the pan technique.
You take a pan, or some other metal dish, an throw it down the stairs.
The fist sound it makes that is your child's name. Bing, bang, cling... :-D
Here the old custom was that the godfather gives a name to the child.
Actually, that was expected from me but I decided to let them choose the name.
I asked them what name would they like they could not tell me.
"You decide, you are the godfather."
A little uncomfortable, what if they didn't like the name.
I think it was an error in the title of the news.
It happens, but turned out funny.
The other day on the TV, there were 5060 tested 5067 Covid positives. All in one day. :-)
I presume all you good people are just pretending not to understand the various meanings of the dash in an English sentence (especially abbreviated)?
But it was a hypen (-), not dash (—). :-)
