Corrupt Download Image

Hello all.

I have tried installing Helium using various install images.  The latest has been confirmed via Advanced Install as being 'corrupt'.  I have included the traditional install failure screenshot along with confirmation of the bad image.

I'd really like to install BunsenLabs... but can't get a good copy.  Here are links to the failure images (since I don't see an upload facility).

Re: Corrupt Download Image

johnraff or hhh need to help out with the installer part, if this is an installer problem.

Though first things first: Did you download the ISO image from https://www.bunsenlabs.org/installation.html#downloads and did you verify that the downloaded image's checksum and/or signature is correct?

Re: Corrupt Download Image

Yes I downloaded from the site... the Advanced Installer performed a check that indicated the potential corruption. There are too many digitts for my old eyes and brain to guarantee accuracy.  However, in software "I trust".  wink (Not really but it sounded funny to me.)

Re: Corrupt Download Image

Did you use the torrent link for the ISO you wanted? Please us that to ensure there's no corruption in the ISO (no checksum needed, torrent has it's own checks).

Re: Corrupt Download Image

Follow up, now that you have an uncorrupt I, how are you transferring it to USB" Please us 'cp' from the command line if your using linux. cd to the directory the ISO is in, or move the ISO to its own folder if other ISOs are in the same director, and run...

sudo cp *.iso /dev/sda;sync

This assumes you're installing to a partition number on sda (sda1, sda2, sda6, etc...) If your partitions are recognized as sdb1, sdb2, etc..., the command is the same except for the last letter. Note, do not include the partition number, drom sdb1-sdb100, transfer to sdb and sync.

Re: Corrupt Download Image

Hello hhh,

Thank you for your assistance. I used torrents as well as direct links; each returned the same problem/ results. I have installed using the iso image on an SDcard as well as from a HDD (folder location). My main machine id built using MXLinux (Debian Stretch based). As for building an install USB, I did not do that because I simply install iso image's directly into VirtualBox; VB almost always is happy with downloaded, unmodified iso images.

Perhaps the issue is in using the iso with VirtualBox.
