ffmpeg scene detection?

Trying with

    ffmpeg -hide_banner -i "file.mov" -an \
           -filter:v "select='gt(scene,0.2)',showinfo" \
           -f null \
           - 2>&1

to get some video clip stats eventually (but not important at this point), however filter is way to unreliable (basically wrong). Tested with various versions of ffmpeg as well. Ideas to replace this filter with something else? Or simply make it better somehow (maybe with some sort of luma/chroma preprocessing)?

p.s. Not important at this point, but eventually a display like this is needed

/home/ticho/file.mov timeline
-|--|-|-|--|--|-|--|-|-|-|------|--|
average clip length: 1.72 seconds
13 clips, 25 s 0 ms
