Nostalgia Corner: refreshed CrunchBang Waldorf images

Warning: please do not install a system with this ISO, it is for use as a "live" image only.

I recently dug out my original CrunchBang Waldorf DVD and it turns out that the image still works so I've updated all the packages on it and used the wheezy-backports kernel so that it will support vaguely modern hardware (up to Intel Haswell generation).

I also threw in the latest version of Flash Player, I find that useful in a live system.

Here is the image:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=14uvOx … Ig6UXqrv5B

Transfer it to a USB stick with the usual method:

sudo cp crunchbang-backports.img /dev/sdX

No UEFI support, of course.

Enjoy!

Re: Nostalgia Corner: refreshed CrunchBang Waldorf images

Wait!

The image doesn't work, I must have done something wrong sad

Here is a link to an updated, non-backports image that does actually work:

I will fix the backports image and repost (probably tomorrow).

Sorry...

Re: Nostalgia Corner: refreshed CrunchBang Waldorf images

OK I SEE, ya have all this time on your hands to fiddle around with oddball projects like a revived Waldorf iso !?!?! Stop messing around and get to work on improving latest Bunsenlabs !!! I vote bike-shed on this one, who's with me !?!?!

You know I'm just being a dork folks. Might not be inclined to mess around with dated #! but anyone has to admit it was an awesome distro and #! left a lasting impression on how I'll forever view software/Os's. Thankfully though, also it's legacy aka:Bunsenlabs shall continue to carry on kickbutt Debian minimalism forward into the future ! big_smile

This is a personal project and it only took me a few minutes of fiddling, I just wanted to get the live #! system working on my Haswell laptop and I thought others might be interested, that's all.

^ Hope you know I was kidding around and did guess it wasn't much of a time intensive task for you. Would never suggest anything other than you continue to follow your techno-muse dude. Thanks for sharing some of those adventures too. smile

</hoasfanboi'ism> NOW GET BACK TO WORK ON BUNSENLABS !!!! You think kickbutt minimal Debianess is going to make itself !!! We are @ war and must put Canonical Inc in it's place !!! hmm

lmao. big_smile ... yep, you knowing I'm kidding about that last part of this post, errr well 98.2% joking anyway. Am getting smashed drunk in celebration if ever such a day came to pass.

Distrowatch ranking.

#4 Bunsenlabs Linux
#5 Ubuntu.

I'm wondering: Why is Flash useful on a live system?

Re: Nostalgia Corner: refreshed CrunchBang Waldorf images

^ I get very paranoid about losing my hard drives on a MotoGP weekend  monkey

I have corrected the backports image and it all works now:

https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic … 446#p63446

No DDX driver for my HD4600 (hence the "llvmpipe" for the GPU entry) so I could add the backported xserver-xorg-video-intel package but I think I'll just leave it for now.
