I just hope this level of connectivity expands worldwide and decreases in price for all.

Here in Poland, I'm paying for 5MB/s, 24/7 just 7.99 USD (30 Złotys) per month, the price of 15 loaves of bread (~ 8 kgs). I am getting 5.75MB/s most times. Quite enough for 2 laptops working.
Just got a sms offering 10MB/s for 10.66 USD per month, but I'm going to wait till they give a better offer for 25MB/s.

I suspect my wifi card is slowing me down. I'm on my Precision M4400 C2D system. I'll have to check later on my Thinkpad T410. I have FiOS and it regularly tests around 100MB/s down and 95MB/s UP which is what I am paying for.

Kinda slow this morning. Normally around 100Mbps

Aq0mgs.png

I hope image size is okay. Limit is 250 x 250 = 62,500px
This one = 57,000px. Is it okay to measure it that way?

Pretty good. But my provider has FUP (fair usage policy). If I overly use it for downloading, the speed will be gradually decreased (but it will be reset in early month). So, I must use it wisely smile

Re: Your Internet connection speed

We in Australia have some of the worst internet speeds compared to some other countries like japan or singapore. Im on 4G mobile broadband and only get 2 to 5 mb a second. If i am on a good mirror i may get 10 mb a second. Still i cant really complain, i remember the dial up days, 5 kilobytes per second !!!!

Mine was just upgraded (at no additional cost) to nominally 100/10, last week. Actual speed test results are around 115/13. I'm very happy with it (Spectrum.net).

Wew, it's unfair. Even our HSPA here is faster. Have You tried to write an email to your provider's customer service about your speed? smile

Maybe they know about your seeding activities then silently reduce your speed big_smile
By the way, what is your provider?

Re: Your Internet connection speed

@unklar i used to have 2.5Mbp/s Uploads, still fine for seeding. I have managed to spent 450/500GB per month on a private tracker. While 300Kbp/s onerously i can't reach 30GB on month. So i stoped a few trackers.

@Addy, I would be very upset if this was the case. In fact, I have changed the place where i leave. I have no choice choices, so I have accepted the bitter reality.
Regarding provider, Better i not say, that is not known smile

As far as I know, there is no provider on Earth would give 200Mbps for personal user.

You live in Japan, don't You? I thought using torrent is illegal there. And have You tried to write an email to your provider's customer service?
And 4Mbps is not really bad either. Most people here don't even reach 4Mbps smile

No, i'm not living in Japan, downloading copyrighted contents may got caught and could open up many troubles or jail for up to 10 years. With VPN we can minimize this case, but again there is no 100% safety sharing contents. If I'd live in Japan, I would not get anywhere with torrenting.

Luckily I'm in a place where LAWS are too sleepy smile

I have stoped Torrenting... 4Mbp/s is enough for my little works i do now. I had an extra privilege early that i was paying less and getting more quality speed. That privilege i don't have anymore, so i get as much as i pay.

4Mbps is very good for browsering and watching Youtube HD.
Only UL is too less, Sometimes Skype or other form of communications show some concerns due to low upload speed.

Luxembourg has had a government policy to provide internet connectivity to all Luxembourg inhabitants from the early internet days.
Also, fibre connectivity was installed country wide a few years ago.
I could subscribe to fibre as a personal user @ 1000Mbs down/500Mbs up (if my pockets were deep enough roll @ 128Euros/month )

Like I said earlier...I am very lucky!

You will observe from my post of 2015-11-02 16:50:09 I could not resist the upgrade to 200/100  wink

However using speakeasy.net with browser shows down/up of 899/793 Mbps. Either way - easy to download iso's.

Re: Your Internet connection speed

Thats it, im relocating to Luxembourg !!

I pay AU $60 for 50 GB per month. I could pay $70 for 100 GB, seriously thinking about it. But this is mobile broadband not fiber, so its a bit more expensive here.

Ohh, Sorry.. I thought You are Japanese. Your japanese style screenshoots make me think You are from Japan.
Our Laws are also too sleepy. And I also believe, most of PC being used in Government Office are using unlicensed Windows big_smile
But the good side is I can use torrent without worries to be caught.
And the internet providers here know that we are heavy downloader for illegal content. So, no unlimited internet plan here (except for enterprise packet maybe).
