I blame my crappy router -- 80Mb is possible with a cable.

My advertised speed is 60 / 4 Mbps. My actual tested speeds average 65 / 4.3 Mbps. This is for internet via TV cable service.

Download: 4.43 Mbit/s, upload: 0.45 Mbit/s.

Advertised: 50Mbit/s, 5Mbit/s.

Of course I'm paying the FULL price. If somebody wants to go with me and burn down Deutsche Telekom HQ, the invitation stands.

Re: Your Internet connection speed

I haven't done a speed test in a while, I was surprised to see that Xfinity is providing their own, and even more surprised that they offer conservative results.

Xfinity test... Ping: 33MS; Download: 10.69Mbps (11.8 peak); Upload: 4.91Mbps (5.19 peak)
Speakeasy test... Download: 11.41Mbps; Upload: 6.76Mbps

I'm afraid to talk about Xfinity's service outages because I haven't had one in a whole week, which is a record in any town on the US east coast that I've lived in.

Re: Your Internet connection speed

Depends on where I go.  'speedtest' alone does "Selecting best server based on latency..." what ever that means.  And TeleCentro is just down the road ... wouldn't that be cheating?

Paying for 12 so I consider 9+ a good thing.

Corresponds to 10/2 option.

(Latency is the one to autoselected closest server, distance to test server is definitely measured wrong (unless that is cable length in km smile))

Re: Your Internet connection speed

ref #6
I don't want to brag about this connection speed...

A bit of internet history might be called for.
Some years ago...maybe 10?...the Luxembourg Government vowed that everybody in the country would have access to high speed internet...
At about this time we were living in an average 'small' town in Luxembourg and I maxed out at 6MB/s download....at the time I thought that was pretty good 'pre-fibre' connectivity.

We then decided to buy a house in 'the middle of nowhere'...well nice countryside and lots of sheep... in the Luxembourg Ardennes...
I was getting a bit 'anal' about what if any internet connection would be available yikes

Just as we moved house fibre connectivity arrived in our new village big_smile cool

So, lucky...but not cheap on the international scale;

http://www.post.lu/en/particuliers/inte … bre#panel2

I just hope this level of connectivity expands worldwide and decreases in price for all.
