Re: September 2016 Screenshots

I've given up for now trying to get BL working on a new laptop (nvidia/intel) - bumblebee etc isn't playing nicely, and I can't use the nouveau driver for CUDA rendering. So Mint Mate has come to the rescue, despite a week of frustration without my Openbox + keybinds + menu + tint2 sad

Now it has been bunsenified, with Openbox and friends, lots of bl-* scripts and the new bl-exit smile  Phew!

The wallpaper is an update of a #! one. GTK/OB theme is FlatSlate

And Tint2 is sooo superior to the mate panel, or xfce4 panel. They are rubbish for navigating workspaces and seeing what is open on each desktop. I now have to take the plunge and start using Conky v1.10 sad

There is something calm (&cool) in patterns, it's hypnotizing.

Hey PackRat I was just wondering if you still know the name of the theme for the top panel that you posted in this scrot last month. https://scrot.moe/image/HLky   I like it, it looks like Mac OSX. And also the name of the font that is used on the panel.  It looks like Neue Helvetica 65 medium.  But I am not too sure.

Re: September 2016 Screenshots

At my shop I have an OptiPlex 790 with a QC i7 (4C, 8T) and 16GB of RAM. Normally it runs Windows 10 for work stuff.

But this morning I had some free time and and slapped a spare 320GB HD we had laying around in it. I now have BL setup on said HD. While I don't have it fully configured to my tastes yet (all my good conky's and whatnot are on my home NAS and I haven't reconfigured my VPN after switching ISP's). That being said I do have something to share with you guys.

2016-09-09-13-20-16_scrot.th.png

This is my first time running BL on anything other than a laptop. OMFG, it flies on this machine. With 8 threads available, an Nvidia GPU (Soon to become an Nvidia 960GTX or FX5800) and 16GB of RAM - this machine is buttery smooth. The GPU in it right now is weak (Nvidia GT 520 1GB DDR3), but it gets the job done for now.

Re: September 2016 Screenshots

Getting more setup on my OptiPlex 790. Got conky to show all my cores, got GiMP installed and a few other programs. Found a nice relaxing wallpaper. I have a 22" LCD at the house I'm not using so later this week I'm going to bring it in and get out of this 1280x1024 land that I am in right now.

Anyway here's a scrot of my WIP to date:
