SAMBA 4 may be the biggest waste of time since TV was invented

[rant]
At least, if you want to use it as a second DC when AD is being run by a Windows box...

If I was being paid minimum wage for the hours I've wasted, I could now buy a Windows licence for the second box, and well on the way towards new hardware to load it on..

I think I've read and followed about every tutorial google could find, none work properly, hell I've even compiled the latest and greatest direct from the horses mouth.. that *almost* worked, apart from never replicating again after the initial one, and at least the wiki matched the version on offer (more than can be said for debian).

Why does it have to be so impossibly hard to do? I'm seriously doubting claims in tutorials and how-tos that they've actually had it working.

Maybe it does if all the DCs are samba based.

Why can't it be like Windows? Just run dcpromo, jobs a good-un!
