Re: What are you listening to right now?

Kat Skinner presents Episode 23 of Dub U Crazy, it airs this Sunday...

https://soundcloud.com/hhh-orb/kat-skinnerdubucrazyep23

Maybe my best effort yet. Genreless, for the most part, other than instrumental.

Acoustic dub and rock/jazz fusion, fine. Labels.

-edit- Wrong edit, uploading the correct file now.

^Yeah nice. smile

The other day there was a tune by a band called Little Tempo on the radio. I'd forgotten they existed, but in a very easy-listening sort of way, not too bad. Maybe not edgy enough for you? Anyway, there's lots on YouTube, eg:

New from Paul McCartney and Damon Albarn, Long Tailed Winter Bird...

It's official, Damon Albarn (Gorillaz) has replaced Pete Townshend as my favorite living musician. He's been pushing so much material recently, all of it good, most of it great, and collaborating with everybody while doing it. Even Elton John made some statement a few months ago praising his contribution to the music scene, specifically the British music scene. And Paul. You beautiful man.

If art is how we decorate space, music is how we decorate time.

Zappa, Black something...

Black Napkins, live. This version must have Jean-Luc Ponty on electric violin at about 5:01 or 2, but I can't find a credit anywhere. Probably because he's not on the studio release version. That's him, though, I can guarantee that. And Zappa, tap-guitaring way before Eddie Van Halen.

Certainly sounds like JLP, but there is a credit:

I guess vlolins sound a lot like violins?

PS love FZ's guitar! He was at a peak round then I guess - a lot of his later work leaves me a bit cold.

Re: What are you listening to right now?

I always listen to these links without opening the web page; this one was a real mystery.
Sounded like bootlegs from underground bands from 3 decades (though mostly 80s to my ears, since they already featured a 50s/60s comeback).

Second listening now, I really like it.

Opening the web page cleared up most of the mystery, there's two long texts.
BTW, he was fairly contemporary, his debut album came out 2001. No wikipedia page.
