@ratcheer, add Wayne Shorter to that list.
He is on the list, included in the "etc" part.

Joni Mitchell ... One of the most talented artists of all time.
Definitely. One of my favorite stories about her: Graham Nash was her boyfriend, and he proudly showed her a song he had written, but struggled to get just right. She looked at it, said, "That's great!" and, according to him, showed him about a dozen she had just written that were "all better than" his.

Cool story. I like the one where she went to a Hollywood party in black face, dressed as a man, and nobody knew who the weird small man in the corner was. It inspired her to write People's Parties, I think...

And now for something completely different.
Currently my favorite track in all of recorded music, this one is intense. Squarepusher - My Red Hot Car (Girl), the album is Go Plastic and the year is 2001...

About 41 minutes. I recommend good headphones. Grado Grado Labs (!!!) or comparable. I'm using Sennheiser at the moment, Audio Technica is another good choice. @glittersloth can give you the latest 411, the man is a tech monster.
A chuckle from this link, so pretentious...

Fortunately, they back it up with great cans. Those Apogees look pretty sweet.

No, I only know what I know, based on what I've heard. There's a lot out there I haven't experienced, plus we all have our own sonic preferences and shouldn't base our decisions for 3rd person opinion or marketing fluff. For example, since you mentioned Grado, I tend to recommend professional over audiophile products because the former sector doesn't suffer fools like the latter, but I love Grado's GS (Statement line marketed towards audiophiles) series and hate their PS (supposedly Professional) series. I do like the company overall though. They march to their own beat ignoring head-fi trends. Do they still deliver their cans in that pizza-box style packaging these days? Maybe @ratcheer knows, since he got a GS recently, iirc.

True. So Grado, Sennheiser, Audio Technica, Beyer. Sony if it's a good set. Just say no to Bose and Beats By Dre.

For speakers, I don't even know. Yamaha. I assume B&Ws are still good...

Oh, heck yeah...

For an American speaker, I always liked Snell...

They're done, though. KLH is not...

Lol, USD $2500 for the B&W 700s.

Each. So $5,000 plus sales tax.

Well, I bought mine (GS1000e) used and I don't know exactly how old they are, but yes, they came in a box that is a lot like a pizza box. On the inside, though, everything was well secured in cut-out foam material.

Nice. The fact that Firefox warned me that the site was a potential security risk made it twice as nice.
That said, pffft. 2020 Backes Miller BM 100, $500,000 USD...

Look at that stupid photo, the speakers could be 6 feet farther apart and the right speaker is not toed in correctly.
You're renting a several million dollar per year apartment and you don't have your 1/2 million dollar speakers set up even close to correctly??? You idiot! At least get them away from the glass and over by the long wall! Those things are hideous, why would you put them by the window?!?? Why am I this anal retentive?!??? Hey, I'm shouting here!!!

Keith Jarret live, fairly recent. I posted this a few days ago in my piano giants rant, I think.
https://soundcloud.com/joffrey-bean/kei … ar-concert
I can hear the sound engineer... "Man, that whiney singing along with his right hand is annoying as Hell. Put the mics twenty feet up, overhead, that'll help. Crap, I still hear it. Fuck it, press it. That's the best I can do."

Strange. I didn't get that on Firefox (78), but I've disabled its Goolag-phoning "safe browsing" setting and rely on uBO's Malware related blocklists. Is anyone else getting that message, I wonder?
But yeah, old-skool Brit loudspeaker companies (that don't incessantly remind us of what they did at Abbey Road four centuries ago to misdirect everyone from seeing what they've degenerated into - a lifestyle brand) that cater to mixing/mastering studios (as opposed to kleptocrat living rooms) are what I'd put in my acoustically treated man-cave if I had one, meaning ATC, PMC, Quested and the like.

I'm blown away.
This station has more to give.
Always weird, sometimes too extreme even for my taste.
Just finished "Tales of the Far East", now it's TECHNOGRAMMA - some sort of - erm, did I say weird already - hiphop/rap. Or psychedelic rap? Right now it sounds like Damo Suzuki on the streets of Chicago, just him and a Ghettoblaster...

Nor I on my new laptop with a fresh Buster cinnamon install. A browser issue on the old laptop for sure.
French radio stream FIP. Trés eclectique (I have no idea if that's correct French, but I'm sure it's close)...

La radio musicale la plus éclectique.
Gave this URL to radiotray-ng and it's playing OK at the moment:
https://stream.radiofrance.fr/fip/fip_hifi.m3u8
Streaming URLs die quickly though.
EDIT love this station!

And adjusting buffering doesn't seem to help, though smplayer/mpv works better for me than audacious for streams. Maybe because I'm on wireless it's worse?
EDIT love this station!
Moi aussi! C'est très bien!
Currently playing, after several French songs, The Doors - Riders On The Storm
"Like a dog without a bone, an actor out on loan." Leather pants carried Jim a long way, because his lyrics do not stand the test of time.
And now they're playing Richie Havens - Hurricane Waters. Fantastic station.
