Re: What are you listening to right now?

Been listening to a bit of Eels lately. Last Stop: This Town is irrecoverably stuck in my head. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TfqbuTBqX8

Re: What are you listening to right now?

Listening to Led Zeppelin's untitled fourth album, or "Led Zeppelin IV" as it's called sometimes (I usually refer to it as "the Runes album"). From an old cassette tape!

Re: What are you listening to right now?

Finally took a minute to sample the new Tool album that's setting records for a record. Never was big into Toll or A Perfect Circle. This is good, the production is amazing...

Still, it sounds very, very nineties vocally, and the song... I'm of two minds, and they're both depressed. Either the crushing weight of capitalism and society at large, or the crushing weight of capitalism and society in private. Anyway, I think Imogen Heap did something similar (better) way earlier...

Jerry Goodman & Jan Hammer - Like Children.

If you like some jazz fusion.

I found old promotional copy of this album up on Amazon a while back. The notes are worth looking at. big_smile

I don't know what to call him. Musical idiot savant? The most influential musician since Lennon-McCartney? Something out of Deliverance, like if the inbred banjo player grew up to be the greatest rock persona in modern rock?

Let's call him Thom Yorke...

Re: What are you listening to right now?

I know this is Essen, DE in the mid-eighties, but I experienced the same thing in Boston, MA, USA at the same time during the 2 live shows I saw... a predominantly white audience listening to basically (heavily stylized and drugged-out) African music...

Re: What are you listening to right now?

Earlier than I remembered '81-'83, I was just a kid...

Steel Pulse - Rollerskates (lice, early)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yE_dt8NOPcY

I saw them earlier than that by a couple of years, the lead singer's stalk was shorter the first time, and taller than in this video the second time.
