I'm saying it here, early Black Sabbath absolutely blows away anything Led Zep ever produced.

Re: What are you listening to right now?

Adding my perspective...

Mendelssohn is a good composer in general, but the first movement of this cello piece is not great. It's boring and overly romantic. (There's some great stuff after the first piece, though.)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jgIglWnPUI

du Pre brings not only youth and wisdom, and understanding of the music betraying her youth, but she brings a 100% dedicated performance to back it up, with technique to spare. The tone, her sound, is perfect, always. Intonation, perfect. Phrasing and interpretation of the composer that 60 year old musicians would die for? Done, age 22 or whatever, perfect. What a genius this woman was.

Bach would have wept if he had heard Jacqie play Brahms, I think.

Yep I had the same reaction! The whole of the new album (their twelfth studio album!) seems good, it'll need a few listens though: https://lowtheband.bandcamp.com/album/double-negative

I really like Trust from 2002.
