The Throwaways on Crackle!

Good hacking flick!
I have to confess that I had previously never heard of Crackle! I must be getting old!
Sorry if we already have a "What are you watching thread!" I did check though.

My partner was reluctant to watch Penny Dreadful (probably something to do with my Eva Green infatuation), but I got her to sit down and watch it with me and now she's hooked. A good excuse for myself to rattle through the episodes again before moving on to season 3.

Last night I watched a bunch of Zappa interviews from the mid-80's when Tipper Gore and company advocated for a warning label for rock albums.
https://www.google.com/search?q=zappa+t … 80&bih=674
They were successful, Rock CDs with lyrics deemed explicit came with a warning label.
I haven't seen any warnings on MP3s, though.

I would watch any Zappa I could! I saw him do the Black Page live with Terry Bozzio and I was speechless!

For the record, I do like parts of Gotham, but I can't stand Jada Smith! It just doesn't work for me!

Frank was the first rock show I ever went to. Boston Opera House, 1980, Joe's Garage Tour. Mind blown *poof*.

This should all be in the music thread, splitting it.

Tal Wilkenfeld
Robert Fripp
Keith Richards
What amazed me about these three is they actually maintain what the books claim is "proper" left hand position, while all the other guitarists/bassists in this thread are so great despite what is considered sloppy technique. I can only imagine how great Steve Via might have been had he learned to keep the neck out of the palm of his hand.

He wouldn't have been able to hold the guitar in place, what with those giant fans he has blowing at him on stage.
On topic;
Watching MXGP highlights from the last round in GB.

The book (by James Dickey) is even better.
When I read the book I realized how much it was like Conrad's Heart of Darkness

^Must read Heart of Darkness.

...And watch Apocalypse Now
The screenplay by John Milius and Coppola updates the setting of Joseph Conrad's novella Heart of Darkness to that of the Vietnam War.

Yeah, Apocalypse Now's good.

I've been watching a few Youtube clips by Kezia Noble. So far, I like her approach a lot better than those used by Strauss, von Markovik and others of their ilk. Plus, the fact that the advice comes from a woman who doesn't talk like a club sk*nk (EDIT: You know that type - only interested in men with fancy cars and AmEx Black cards) automatically lends it credibility.

Should the posts here be merged with the existing TV series and film threads? (Music videos would go to the music thread; anything else would probably go into the completely random thread.)

Leave it as it's own thread, I think, but movies should go in the Film thread and link that here if you must.
Apocalypse Now is a given, no need to repost that one!
I love the smell of the forums in the morning... You know one time these guys were posting cool links...
It smelled like... victory.

MotoGP Sachsenring Qualifying.
I'm as big Rossi fan as anyone my age, but Marc Marquez in qualifying trim going full banzai is one of the greatest sights in motorsport, particularly on the tighter stop-go tracks where he treats a GP bike like a motocrosser.

I had a tough time finding that second link, don't be surprised if it's not available when you click it.
I take it the neck-scoop on his jacket both gives his torso some airflow and reduces the wind turbulence created by his helmet?
Offline
^ It's multipurpose. Primary use would be, as you guessed, to regulate airflow (layman: prevents air behind your helmet from creating a vortex). The other is safety - helps in a fall when the rider lands on his back. Not too sure about the airflow into the back though, but in terms of cooling the rider, the hump actually stores a pump and some water/coolant (works the same way as radiators) which flows around the back of the suit. There's also a secondary pump for rider drinks. They've also got space within it allocated for various telemetry black boxes, sensors and whatnot.
