GitLab

I'm not sure when this happened but GitLab now offers unlimited public and private projects with up to 10 GB of space per project. Not bad at all - the web interface is nice. Is anyone using this over GitHub?

Re: GitLab

I'am using it for a single private project (collection of text files) < it replaced custom intranet git server.

Gotta love those standalone Go binaries.

I just use a regular server to store git repos and push to them over ssh.

git remote add myserver $myserver:/srv/git/$reponame

I find their interface nicer than Github's.

One thing they at least were worse than Github was SSH performance. In that regard, Own server >>> Bitbucket > Github > Gitlab, in my experience. Might because of my internet locatin though.

They are also open-source (excl. the enterprise product). Github really isn't much open with its core product.
