Anyways, I've been trying to get a font to work, I saw it being used by someone else here - Ohsnap it's called, but despite following the instructions I've not got it to be recognised in the font-select dialog (even after reboots and all that).

Following the Readme file didn't work for me either (running BunsenLabs 8.3) except in conky.  I got it working systemwide by following the guide on urukrama's weblog:

https://urukrama.wordpress.com

For the last part I added the (amended) line to /home/username/.profile.

Nice one mate, that's a great help! I'm so close, but some of the colours are a bit screwed:

BunsenColoursth.png

See the window headers, the menus, the style previews... every time I restart OpenBox the colours are different. Any ideas what might be causing that? Otherwise it looks great.

It may be worth mentioning that I am currently VNCing into my machine, but I wouldn't expect that to have an effect on the colours of a font.

Thank you mate,
- I will rearrange spectrwm now -
i just wakeup from sleep smile

srry

This is a simple code i use for my ".spectrwm.conf"

=## window decoration
color_focus		= rgb:91/62/55
color_unfocus		= rgb:43/44/50

## bar settings
bar_enabled		= 1
bar_border_width	= 0
bar_border[1]		= rgb:61/84/85
bar_border_unfocus[1]	= rgb:61/84/85
bar_color[1]		= rgb:CC/99/66
bar_font_color[1]	= rgb:8A/2E/2E
bar_action		= conky
border_width		= 2
bar_format              = +N/+I +<+P +<+<+< +A
bar_font                = snap-8
clock_format            = %a %d, %k:%M

## shortcuts
program[firefox]        =firefox
bind[firefox]		= Shift+I
program[urxvtc]         =urxvtc
bind[urxvtc]		= Shift+U
program[spacefm]        =spacefm
bind[spacefm]		= Shift+S
program[shot]           =shot
bind[shot]		= Print
program[soff]           =soff
bind[soff]	        = Shift+Print
program[ws_prev]        =ws_prev
bind[ws_prev]           = Insert

## open dmenu config
program[menu]	        = ~/.config/dmenu/dmenu-bind.sh

## open mpv video anywhere out of screen
quirk[mpv:x11]          = FLOAT + FULLSCREEN + FOCUSPREV + ANYWHERE
quirk[Tixati_Linux32bit:tixati_Linux32bit]          = FLOAT + FULLSCREEN + FOCUSPREV + ANYWHERE
quirk[XClock:xclock] 	= FLOAT + FULLSCREEN + FOCUSPREV
quirk[XCalc:xcalc]	= FLOAT + FULLSCREEN + FOCUSPREV
#quirk[Deadbeef:deadbeef]	= FLOAT + FULLSCREEN + FOCUSPREV

## Customize workspace layout at start
layout		        = ws[1]:0:1:0:0:horizontal
layout		        = ws[2]:0:0:0:0:vertical

## Unused settings
#bar_font               = Droid Sans-8
#focus_mode             = manual

## Set workspace name at start
#name			= ws[1]:console [rxvt-unicode]
#name			= ws[2]:FM [file manager]
#name			= ws[2]:browser [iceweasel]

## spectrwm startup autorun
autorun                = ws[1]:urxvtc
autorun                = ws[2]:spacefm
autorun                = ws[4]:/home/nili/.dbeef/deadbeef

As you can note is very less code, spectrwm is less and light. All people that want to try tiling window manager, starting with spectrwm would make things a lot easier.

Also we've this other thread regarding spectrwm.

Nope, mate-panel. Challenge excepted accepted, let me dupe this in BL. I'll post back. Except for the weather applet, you can't get that in tint2, I don't think (prove me wrong, forum!) I just custom colored all the weather applet icons for this icon theme today so they'd work with dark GTK and panel themes (done with this setup for the month)...

Same theme on BunsenLabs Hydrogen rc2 (openbox, tint2, compton). Done.

I'll post the theme later tonight or tomorrow and edit this post.

p.s. Solus 1.1, vbox install, minimum tweaking:

What is the trick to show desktops?

There's an applet you can add from Raven called Workspace switcher. You can use ctrl+alt+left/right arrow keys to switch the desktops with the keyboard.
You can find more shortcuts in menu > system settings > keyboard > shortcuts tab > Navigation
