Wayland playtime

siduction+Gnome+Wayland...
live dvd loaded to RAM ('toram' added to boot option)

box specs

I had a quick play with the latest siduction gnome dev release with the wayland option available at login.

No big report but;
Stable on my hardware...but...
graphics issues on many text boxes...a lot of text unreadable.

If you would like to try wayland+gnome;

How is wayland for you at this point in development?

It works well on my machine under Arch [testing] but libinput doesn't have the configuration options of libudev & synclient so I still prefer Xorg.

The compositing is the best I have ever experienced though -- completely tear-free on my usually problematic Intel HD4600 laptop and with no noticeable lag when dragging windows.

Re: Wayland playtime

^ I agree with the compositing being very smooth and tear-free/no lag.
I will return soon to Wayland for further testing.
