The Over-the-Hill-BunsenGang Thread

Continuing The Official #! Over-the-Hill-CrunchGang Thread, by popular demand.

(The old guys like to have things just as they were, with everything in its expected place)

Attention new oldcomers - don't sit in our comfy chairs by the fire, else me and Sector11 and g33zr might get grumpy

scorn_sm.png... and I'm always grumpy ...
OH LOOK! damo brought biscuits. grimace_sm.png

But I have to add:  "Old Timers" start at 60(ish), we may make exceptions as it says in the original thread, brought here for clarity and modified to match damo's BunsenGang:

Mis-quote from the book: Created: Shivia the Destroyer

Therefore you may join if you are a cabbage or a mountain and can type or as a human if:

  • You are 60

  • You once were 60

Benefit: You get an addition to your signature: Member of the OHBGT

We hereby declare these bits and bytes of the BL Forum our turf!  Forever to be known as the "The Over-the-Hill-BunsenGang Thread"

Re: The Over-the-Hill-BunsenGang Thread

Back at CrunchBang, I was made an honorary member of this group:

http://crunchbang.org/forums/viewtopic. … 01#p171601

Does that transfer over here as well, or do I have to wait two more years?

Re: The Over-the-Hill-BunsenGang Thread

@lcafiero

As damo, another honorary member stated; "of course".

Since we are a continuation of #! here what happened there happens here.

If you were an OTHCG'er you are automatically an OHBG'er.

damo let us know what the big day happens ... or some time after that day is fine too, after all: like it says:

Therefore you may join if you are a cabbage or a mountain and can type or as a human if:

  1. You are 60

  2. You once were 60

#2 applies any time after #1

No it does not. If you are 61, you once were 60 but you are not 60 any more.

You forgot to apply:

or as a human if: (You once were 60)

Well I was 60 once and being more than 60 doesn't change that and certainly doesn't make me too young to be here!  big_smile

I was 60 once and never will be again. Does that mean I'll have more fun at 70?!  monkey

Sorry, I made a trivial logical error: I assumed (a AND b) instead of (a OR b). After all, I'm too young to have patience to take time to read meticulously.

Thanks for the invitation in the other thread, but I'm not qualified, due to age.
But I will apply when the time comes smile

Hey Tim glad you made it, and with a fresh pot on in the Coffee Shoppe next door too.

As damo said I left a note on the kitchen table over at #! and bread crumbs all over the #! Forum.

@plemil - Qualified or not an invite to join us gave you guest privileges.  smile  Don't be in a rush to join, you'll get here soon enough.

I started coding in ALGOL on a Burroughs vacuum tube computer. My "terminal" was an actual Teletype machine.
